With 1 In 6 adults experiencing a common mental health problem every week, there is a clear need for increasing the understanding of an issue that affects the lives of so many. With an increased understanding of the topic of mental ill health and by increasing awareness and learning mental health first aid skills, we can help friends, family and colleagues and even save a life.
This qualification aims to increase awareness of mental health, including what it is, how to reduce stigma and discrimination. In addition to this, the qualification also equips you with the basic skills to carry out the procedures of mental health first aid and be able to respond appropriately when others are experiencing a mental health crisis.
This course is completed via a online learning with the assistance of a hard copy manual. Once learning has been completed, arrangements are made to complete the online bases assessments.

Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness:
The aims of this qualification is to provide you with a greater understanding of mental health, common disorders and issues people with mental ill health may experience, while also looking at the reduction of stigma and discrimination with mental health.
This course provides learners with the ability to apply their knowledge of mental health through recognising and responding to the signs of mental ill health in themselves and others, while also being able to offer mental health first aid to people experiencing difficulties.
This course covers the following mental health conditions:
- Anxiety disorders: stress, phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder
- Eating disorders: anorexia nervosa & bulimia nervosa
- Addiction and substance misuse
